Adobe Reader DC does not navigate across folders in .pdf portfolio on Mac
I have created a .pdf portfolio in Adobe Acrobat DC. The Portfolio only contains pdfs. I have linked various pdfs to others to make navigation easy. The structure is as follows:
PDF 1 - Main Menu
Folder 1 - OT
Folder 2 - NT
Folder 3 - Topical
Folder 4 - Books
Folder 5 - Foreign
etc.
PDF 1 has a link to a pdf in Folder 1 labeled OT Menu, which in turn links to all the other pdfs inside the folder. The structure follows the same in each additional folder.
The structure and links work well on any Windows based PC with Adobe Reader DC installed. However, when testing on a computer with OSX Sierra on Mac with Adobe Reader DC installed, the structure is there but the links do not work properly. For example, I click a link from PDF 1 which should take me to OT Menu located in Folder 1. What I see happening is it attempts to open the pdf as it flashes on the screen but then quickly goes blank (within less than 1 second). It has taken you to Folder 1 but it has not opened up anything. I must then close the tab which opens the left-hand side file tree. The same works in reverse. I have a bookmark that is linked from File X in Folder 1 to Main Menu.pdf. It closes File X and attempts to go to Main Menu but just ends on a blank screen where I must close the tab which opens the left-hand side file tree.
Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Possibly, half of the computers I need to put this portfolio on are Apple computers, not Windows.
