Question

Adobe Reader DC (Latest Version) will not install has error.

Hi All,

OK where to start. I don't have ANY adobe software on my computer and so far my web browser has been opening PDF files. Now I need more options in regards to PDF's and need to desperately install Reader DC. I went to the online installation. It failed at the end of the installation saying that I already have a newer version installed. Which I don't! There is no Adobe software on my computer what so ever! I tried another 3 times to install and they all failed. I then proceeded to download a stand alone copy of the file. I opened it as administrator and it failed as well. It came up with an error 1722 and rolled back the install. As of right now I have NO Adobe Software installed. I have used the cleanup files from Adobe and it finds nothing. I don't know what else to do or try to make this work. If anyone has had this problem before, PLEASE let me know what I need to do to fix this. There is no where to contact support so I am here in the forums trying to resolve this. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi khama_69

    Getting an error "Newer version already installed" while installing Adobe Reader DC, is an known issue. The error is shown due to a missing update for Universal C Runtime in Windows. You can install the update using one of the following ways given in the help article here: Error 1722 while installing/updating Acrobat DC/Acrobat Reader DC on Windows
