Adobe Reader DC Opens Automatically

Hi there, when downloading a PDF from Google Chrome, the save as box comes up, but when you click save Adobe Reader DC opens automatically. I dont want this to happen, I want it to just to save the file. Does anyone know if this behaviour can be stopped or is it default for this to happen with Chrome / Reader DC.

Chrome Version - 56.0.2924.87

Adobe Reader DC - 20.15.023.20070

    Hi grahamr29488618,

    Try changing following setting in Chrome and see if that works:

    1- Launch Chrome>click three vertical dots in the top right corner of the screen>Settings

    2- Scroll down to the bottom and click Show advanced settings.

    3- Click Privacy>Content settings>scroll down to the bottom to PDF Documents and uncheck the box Open PDF files in the default PDF Viewer application>Done.

    4- Relaunch Chrome.
