Adobe Reader DC Program Doesn't Open, Win 7, Code (103:103)

I'm using Windows 7 and Reader DC but when I attempt to open the program (Start => Programs => Adobe Reader DC) it reports an error and doesn't open the app.  Similar error when I attempt to directly open a PDF file or when attempting to open a PDF in Chrome or IE.

I've tried the following:

  • Uninstalled the app.  No luck.
  • Uninstalled DC and installed XI.  No luck.

Many of the discussions in this forum regarding this error suggest solutions involving opening the app and changing settings but since I can't open the app I'm stuck.

Suggestions?  Fixes?

Hi Billh6083278,

I assume, that you have uninstalled the application through control panel.

Please use the Acrobat cleaner tool to uninstall the application- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs 

and install the latest version through-  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

If that doesn't help, then try creating the hidden admin on you computer and check the same there.

Let us know if it still doesn't work.
