Adobe Reader DC stalls when installing.

I download Adobe Reader DC, and the download goes seamlessly, but when I try to run the download manager (the one that's called readerdc_en_ha_crd_install.exe) I get the spinning circle and it tells me that it isn't responding.

I had Adobe Reader DC before and it was working but I was getting an error message concerning DWrite.dll, which is what prompted me to uninstall it. I am now experiencing this problem when trying to re-install. Could these two issues be connected?

Either way, I need to resolve this issue so I can read PDF's!

I have Windows 7 versionb 6.1 (Build 7601:Service Pack 1)

Could you please let us know if you have 64-bit operating system on your machine? If yes, try below mentioned steps:

    1- Close Adobe Reader.

2- Click on Start menu > Computer

    3- Go to C:\Windows\Syswow64

    4- Search DWrite.dll , right-click> copy

5- And, paste it in C:\Windows\System32

Let us know how it goes.

This is what I got when I attempted it. I also tried copying that file from the System32 folder on another Windows 7 computer onto a thumb drive then onto my System32 folder. But, this folder was not in use. I had no programs running. So what could have been using it?

    Hi SpaceMountainMike,

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are unable to install Reader DC on your computer, is that correct?

    Please try following troubleshooting steps:

1- Download and run cleaner tool from here: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

    2- Reboot the machine.

3- Install Reader from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Let us know how it goes.

That solved part of the problem. When Acrobat loads I get these two screens. The second one plays the "ding" sound whenever I click anywhere. When I go to task manager it states that it's not responding.
