Adobe Reader DC turned into Acrobat DC after autoupdate to v. 21.007.20099 (64 bit only)

Hello.
At our company we have several cases where Adobe Reader DC turned into Acrobat DC after auto-updating to version 21.007.20099. We found that the "updated" application deletes Reader's files and creates a new folder structure different from the Reader's structure. And it appears in the Windows interface as Acrobat DC. The inventory tool (Snow Software) also recognizes the updated application as Acrobat DC, which requires a license. This only affects the 64-bit version.
Can anyone explain the situation? This is bug? Or a new feature?
Thanks.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described Acrobat Reader DC turns into Acrobat DCafter update to v.21.11.20039 (64 Bit)

If you have installed Acrobat Reader DC 64-bit and you purchase an Acrobat DC subscription, the Acrobat Reader DC 64-bit application will upgrade to become a fully functional Acrobat DC 64-bit application

Please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/about-acrobat-reader-dc-migration-to-64-bit.html and see if that works for you.

Hi Amal,

The problem is that these users don't have assigned Acrobat DC subscriptions. We have multiple such cases and this is complience issue. We have to understand what is going on to prepare response activities on the situation.

Kind regards, Anatolii

Hi there

To stop the Acrobat Reader DC 32-bit application from automatically upgrading to the 64-bit version, create the registry key as described in the help page shared earlier,  before the first launch of the application.
