Question

Adobe Reader is crashing randomly when opening .PDF files.

The files will open successfully multiple times, then the Adobe Reader will fail, and throw a pop up error. This happens when opening the files as an Outlook attachment, or when saving the file locally and trying to open it. Tried disabling the "Enable Enhanced Security" check box. Still the same behavior. Tested Adobe with a local file and with and Outlook attachment after logging into the user machine, but get the same behavior as the normal user, then the file will open multiple times, then fail.

We have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 11. We've never expired this issue before. Please provide any help.

Thanks!

    Hi Nikkik,

Try troubleshooting steps given in the link below:

Resolve Acrobat DC intermittent crashes on Windows

Could you share the error message you are getting when Reader crashes? Also, the dot version of Reader installed on the machine and operating system installed on the machine.

You may refer to this link on how to: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

    Thanks,
