Adobe Reader not working on Mac OsX Catalina?

Since having to reinstall the OS on my macbook pro, Adobe Reader stopped working altogether. Downloading all software and system updates didn't seem to fix it. Is this a know issue by any chance?

For reference, here's the specs: OS is macOS Catalina version 10.15. , the device is 2018 Macbook Pro. (I need it for work ASAP, so any advice will be welcome!).
