Adobe Reader - Notes are deleted - can I find them somewhere?

I have a problem with my PDFs. I have used Adobe Reader to take notes on my PDS's and somehow I didn't save them directly. Now all my notes seem to be gone/deleted.

If I open the field "comment" it tells me that there are no notes yet.

Is there any kind of back up data or are my notes lost forever? I know that Microsoft Office always does backups but Adobe Reader didn't ask me to save my notes when I closed the tabs and it didn't tell me anything about a backup when I first started it afterwards.

I would really be so thankful if you could help me.
