Adobe Reader on Microsoft Windows XP Professional 2002 Version, Service Pack 2

I tried downloading Adobe Reader on a Microsoft Windows XP Professional 2002 Version, Service Pack 2.

I am using the Firefox browser since that is the only one that works for me. I am able to go to the downloading page and I am trying to download an older version of Adobe Reader. An Adobe Reader version had been previously installed however, I do not know which one. When I go to the download page I select the Windows XP SP2 (64-bit), language English and it has only the 11.0.08 English for Windows.

A new window pops up with the:

"Opening reader 11xp_en_ha_install.exe"

"You have chosen to open: reader 11xp_en_ha_install.exe

which is Binary File (1.1 MB) from: https://admdownload.adobe.com"

"Would you like to save this file?"

I click "Save File".

The file appears in the downloads folder but when I click on it, it will not open.

I would try the full offline installer from here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution . 11.0.08 was the last version to support Windows XP. Did you run AcroCleaner when you uninstalled your previously installed version? If not, this link might prove necessary, but note that there are separate versions for Reader 9.x and for 10.x and later: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs .
