Adobe Reader Opens correctly large files but can't open small files

Hi,

I changed to a Windows 10 operating system, and tried to open all my old downloaded files. 
While Adobe Reader opens correctly large files and even huge ones (several hundreds MB), it's not able to open very small files (less than 50 KBs). 

It gives me an error message "can't open this file, file type is not correct or damaged file".

What can you see when you open the small files in Notepad?
