I have Adobe Reader DC downloaded on my Mac with High Sierra. I can't figure out why but it unexpectedly stopped working. Nothing has changed on my computer. If anyone has advice on how to get it working that would be great. I've tried restarting the computer, uninstalling the software, and talking to adobe help but nothing worked.

Please check for any pending updates(if any) of Adobe Reader DC from Help>Check for updates. Reboot the machine after the installation of Adobe Reader and see if this brings any difference.

Try resetting the preferences once How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default. Reboot the machine after resetting the preferences.

If the issue still persists, please remove the Adobe Reader using the Acrobat cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs Reboot the machine and install the Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
