Adobe Reader won't install on HP Omnibook

I have tried to install Adobe Reader, and it says it in installed, however when I search for the programme it isn't there - I have checked my downloads, and serach in the file... but I get the message that I need to download it from the store, which I try to do again - and again it shows as successful installation, but yet isn't on my laptop.  I am going around in circles! Has anyone else has this issue?

It's a brand new HP Omnibook with Windows 11 and a SnapDragon processor.

I need to be able to edit, sign  and lock documents (in designated boxes) for work, which I could previously do with Adobe reader, but now I'm struggling!

Any ideas are very welcome.

Thanks for the update, Katy. If you still receive the same error message with the direct download links, then it is likely accurate. Please see https://adobe.ly/4qjZlcH for information on how to uninstall any installations of Adobe Reader.

When you say that you've search, did you check the Settings>Apps?

If you can't find the app to unstall, you can try this as a last resort:

Thanks for posting, Katy. You said that the installer says that Adobe Reader is already installed, then what happens when you open a PDF file? Does the Windows Store open up to search for an application? Is Acrobat listed as one of the available programs to open the PDF in?

Please see https://adobe.ly/44XrzkV for several solutions you can implement to allow Adobe Reader to be installed on the new computer, Katy. ^JW

Thanks for your reply. When I open a PDF file, it opens online. If I choose "open with" Adobe doesn't show up. I've checked through all my downloads and installed files, and despite adobe saying it has installed, it obviously hasn't.

I'll try the direct download link, and keep my fingers crossed!
