I have upgrade all my pc from Reader x86 to Reader x64 2023.006.20360.

but now, when i open some pdf files, I have this error (sorry, in french)

The Instruction at [..]referenced memory at [...].  The memory could not be written.  Click on OK to terminate the program

If I click OK, it looks like i can continue working with the pdf file.

This PDF came from my INtranet, I click on the link and Edge ask me if I want to open or save it.

If i clik open, the file will be temporarily in AppData\Local\Temp\MicrosoftEdgeDownloads, the file opens and after few seconds, the error appears.

If I save it, I have no error like this.

the same thing happens if I open a pdf attached in an outlook message, but If I Save it, its ok.

So I made some test, it seems that Protected View mode is causing this.  If a disable only Protected View (Protected Mode still enable), I have no more error when I open a PDF file that I didn't save before.

My original configuration was "Protected View > Files from potentially unsafe locations"

its seems that AppData\Local\Temp\MicrosoftEdgeDownloads is a unsafe locations causing this memory error.

Adobe reader is up to date. I have resinstall.

So for now I Have disable Protected View, because it annoys users.

Anyone have a clue why it does that?
