Adobe [touch] reader installation problem [branched]

I have a different problem.  I don't know how to get this resolved.  I bought an HP laptop with Adobe Touch Reader installed.  Adobe won't let me install Adobe DC reader - it tells me that I have a newer version installed.  This is really too bad because for what I do with Adobe Reader, Touch will not cut it.  It is like having to go from an old motorcycle to a new tricycle.  I want my old motorcycle back.  With the help of my computer store and my work IT department we have tried everything that we can locate online, and nothing works.  Thanks for screwing up my day, Adobe.

    Hi Jjohnd,

As you are trying to install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on your windows machine, try once the steps mentioned below.

Run the cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs on your laptop and reboot it.

Then download the installer file from here Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Check if it resolves the issue.

If you still get an error message, please share the screenshot of the message.

To share the screenshot, click on Insert image icon as shown below:

Then click on "Choose File" and browse to the location where you have saved the screenshot.

Select the image file and click on "Open". Then click on "Insert Image" tab at the bottom to add it to forum reply.

Also, share the os version installed on your HP laptop.
