Adobe update and now PDF's open only in word?

Hi,

A co-worker of mine updated Adobe recently and now none of the PDF's open in Adobe, they only open in word.

The option for "open as" is available on my computer when I right click on icons but NOT on the PDF's.

Some of the PDF files try to open in word and then freeze.

When I open Adobe and say "open file" and try and open from there it says they're corrupted and cannot be repaired.

I'm stuck.

    Hi Jamesc,

    As per the issue description mentioned above, you are facing issue when trying to open pdf files using Reader, is that correct?

    Could you try setting Reader as the default pdf owner using the steps given in the following link and check if that helps:

    Associate PDF files to always open in Acrobat or Reader on Windows 10
