Adobearm.exe won't go away!

Hello.

Adobe Reader XI's adobearm.exe keeps running and (bu/na)gging me about the newer DC version on my work/office's W7 EE SP1 laptop/notebook. I do not want them. I tried disabling Adobe Acrobat Update service and disabling its startup. What else am I missing?

Thank you in advance.

When you get the "nug" you have an option to opt-out.

The next best option is to set idisablepromptforupgrade registry value - please search this forum for instructions.

Regarding "disable AdobeARM.exe" process - you can't. Even if you try to delete the file, or disable ARM Service or Task Scheduler task, the file will likely be restored by the application.

The best you can do is to set policy controlled by bUpdater registry value. This is "per product" setting.

Please search this forum for bUpdater and how to set it.

Good luck

open Task Manager

if "AdobeArm.exe" is runnin find location, do not try to delete yet.

Then end process in Task Manager, then delete file or even the directory.

then open the Registry find "AdobeArm.exe" delete the entries.

My registry had 2 entries.

Hi ,

Please refer this link once and see if this helps.

You can disable AdobeARM.exe but not the reader_sl.exe, Why? | Techdows
