After commenting in a pdf document, document content disappeared

Question

We have sporadic problem when a document has been annotated, 
the main view turns white and the content disappears. Only the yellow comment 
fields remain in the display. We have had this problem for some time in older versions 
including the current version 2022.003.20282. See attachment for screenshot of the error.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot.

It looks like the document content doesn't show up at all. However, the comment icon does appear, and the sticky note content does appear in the comment list.

Try disabling the following security setting and see if that makes a difference:

Navigate to Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected View" and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat

Note: these changes are only for testing purposes. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.
