I am constantly being bombarded with annoying Adobe Autocrat update pops and Adobe product promo popups several times each day. How do I stop them?

Hello @GD Gerlach

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out.

Could you please share more details about the issue? Are you on a Mac or Windows machine, and what is the OS version? Could you share a screenshot of the pop-ups you are getting?

For Promo Pop-Ups, go to Acrobat Preferences: Open Acrobat Reader. Go to Menu (Windows)/Acrobat(Mac)> Preferences > General. Under Messages from Adobe, uncheck "Show me messages when I launch Adobe Acrobat." Click OK and restart the app and the machine.

Disable Automatic Updates (Not Recommended, but Possible)

You can change how Acrobat handles updates, but keep in mind—updates often include important security fixes.

Steps: Open Acrobat Reader, Go to Menu (Windows)/Acrobat(Mac) > Preferences. Select Updater, choose "Do not download or install updates automatically." Click OK. This reduces update pop-ups, but you’ll need to check for updates manually.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

I’m using Windows 10 on a desktop. I downloaded Reader directly from Adobe. I’ve attached a screenshot of the message I get several times a day. I’d love to be able to update manually. I’ve attached a screenshot of Preferences. I don’t see “Updater”.Message    Preferences
