Question

Audio plays back only once in Adobe Reader DC on macOS Mojave

Hi,

I have some PDFs that I have annotated on my iPad using iAnnotate. They include sound clips with feedback for students on their writing.

When I tested the PDFs in Adobe Reader DC on Windows they worked fine. I could click the audio icons and the audio played back as many times as I wanted it to. On macOS (10.14.4) with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version 2019.010.20099 the audio plays back once per sound clip. In order to play the clip again, I first have to close the document and re-open it, after which it is able to play back exactly once (rinse and repeat).

Since the Windows version works fine, I'm assuming it's an issue with the Mac build or something related to audio output on the system. Is this a known issue, and are there any possible workarounds that are less troublesome for the students who have to work with the audio feedback in their documents?

Cheers,

Thomas

2 years later and no response by Adobe while the problem persists (at least in some form)
