Automatically associate PDF

Hello there,

I'm looking to create a script for my monitoring tool so that .PDF files open automatically with Adobe Reader and not Microsoft Edge.

I don't want to do this with a GPO because I would like to integrate it into a monitoring tool. So I'm looking for the exact keys to modify, there seems to be a lot of them.

I've tried to modify these:
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.pdf]

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\FileExts\.pdf]

But nothing to do.

Maybe the values aren't right, or maybe I missed some keys to change.

do you have any idea, please?
