Black screen flashes on start up - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

When starting up the program a black screen flashes briefly before the program opens. Why is this? How can I fix this issue? The program seems to be working correctly. I have tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it.

I can't remember having anything like this happening while I used Acrobat Reader (before updating to Acrobat Reader DC). I a solution cannot be found, how can I download this program again onto my mac?
