I create editable PDF's and some of my customers have come back to me with these kinds of screenshots & issues. Some customers don't have the issue and some do.... I am at a loss as I have no idea what to! It is all fine on my end. The PNG's are saved out from photoshop, then I create my editable PDF. Please help There must be some kind of setting on their end, or something I should be doing on mine?

Hi Stephanie,

How do you create the PDF? And with what settings?

Also, for the ones who have problems, what do they use to view the PDF? There are many viewers besides the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, and not all work well.

Hey there Jane,

I use adobe acrobat to create the editable pdf and I go under 'prepare form'. Not sure if there is a setting I am missing? Especially since it does work for some (and me).

As for the Acrobat reader... I do give them the link to download. When I talk to them they say they do use that link. But some dont have the issue.

Try creating the PDF this way: in Photoshop choose File > Save as Photoshop PDF

You will get a dialog box that lets you select an existing preset or customize the settings. There are four tabs (plus the summary) on the left where you can customize.

I don't see anything in your screen shot that looks like a form, so I assume that's in an unseen area?

Since it works for some and not others, the most likely suspect is the viewer they are using.

Double and triple check what people are using vs. what they say they are using. There is often a disconnect. They may download the free Reader, but their Mac may default to opening PDFs in the Preview app that comes with the Mac. Ask for a screen shot.

Or ask them to provide info from this dialog with exact numbers:

Win: Help > About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Mac: Acrobat > About Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Also, what does it say for you in Acrobat > File > Properties in this section?
