Question

Can I make Reader DC update notices appear only when actually needed?

Hello all--  This Forum contains queries for other versions but nothing recent seems to match my problem.  At random, popups appear that alert me to update Adobe Reader DC.  I check the Adobe update site to see if it's legit because I never open, install, or update anything from a popup; in every case, the update offered in the notice is already installed.  I'd rather not use the excellent instructions from YatharthS to stop update notices and maybe risk missing an update, but these frequent alerts have become distracting time-wasters.  I'd love to know what causes this and if there's a way to make update messages work correctly, i.e., appear only when an update is actually needed.  Repairing and reinstalling had no effect.  Adobe Reader DC v.2015.02020042 is running on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 v.6.1.7601.  The problem hasn't occurred with the browser plugin, Adobe PDF Plug-In for Firefox v.15.20.20039 on Firefox v.50.1.0.  Many thanks for your time!

Also if you like post a screen shot showing the pop ups. We might recognise the origin.
