Yes, you can't open the program. But what EXACTLY happens when you try the Reader icon on your desktop? You told us you got the same message but that's hard to understand.

Let it go, I can't make it more explainable than I have.

Pity. It was a simple question with a simple answer that we never got.

Ok, something is very wrong. You are quite sure you are NOT double clicking on the Menards.pdf file? Absolutely not going near it?

This doesn't make sense. Is this the result of double-clicking on the "Acrobat Reader DC" icon on your desktop?

Please post a screen shot of the message when you try to start Reader NOT open the PDF. It may be similar but it's inconceivable that it will be word-for-word identical. These details matter.

May be a problem with the character '&' in the file path.

Can you start Acrobat Reader in the Windows start menu?

Are you sure this error message is from Adobe? Try opening Reader manually and then open the file from within it.

It's possible your PDF files are associated with another application.

Is that file on your desktop? Can you open other PDF files?
