Can not open PDF's, tried removing Adobe Reader and reinstalling. Get the following message. "Found a higher version of adobe reader in the installation location. Installation will terminate"

    Hi Jukev,

Could you please confirm, since how long you have started experiencing this problem? Is it with the latest version only 2018.011.20036 or you were experiencing this problem earlier as well?

Would you please try installing the latest patch Release notes | Acrobat DC, Acrobat Reader DC, Acrobat DC Classic 2015, Acrobat Reader DC Classic 2015, Acrobat 2017 and…  and let us know if that fixes your problem?

Also, if that doesn't fix the problem then use cleaner tool to uninstall the application- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

and reinstall it - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

Can you share a sample pdf with us so that we can check whether this issue is reproducible at our end or not?

"You can share the file with us via email. And you can send it to the email that is shared via private message. Please do mention your forum thread in the subject"

    Regards,

    Akanchha

    Hi Akanchha,

I haven't been able to open PDF for about a week. Not sure what has changed. I tried to load 2018.011.20036 and the installation fails and a window pops up saying  then when I click ok the installer window says installation failed..

I tried running your cleanup tool and it pulls up an explorer window asking me to select the acrobat app to clean up. I no longer have the App, but when I try to  install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions   I get this window then when I click ok the installer window says installation failed..  Please if you could give me a tool that pulls all adobe off my laptop ( Especially The Higher Version, that is mentioned in the window that pops up) Then a tool to install Acrobat reader or what you recommend. I would greatly appreciate that!

    Thanks Juke
