Can't open a custom link in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Hi everybody,

we have many pdf files, where we added a custom Link to our dms. The link looks like: "d3://d3explorer/idlist=GP01967690". In Word and other applications like different browsers, we can open this links. Only in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC we can't open this links. At the first click on the link, we get a security warning. Then we press "accept" and the "website" is listed in the known and accepted websites. But we can still not open the custom link.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version: 21.007.20091

With the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC we can open this links. But we wont buy licenses for 1700 peoples. So we need a solution for the Reader.

Tanks for all you help!

Regards

Jonas

Since this is not a "normal" domain you will need to white-list it for the link to work. I can't find exactly how to do that right now, but it will most certainly involve a registry edit. Can you do that on all of the computers that are going to be using this file?

Actually, you might be able to do it by adding it under Edit - Preferences - Trust Manager. Worth a try...

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Could you please confirm if you are still facing the issue?
Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.07.20095 (Win) , 21.07.20096 (Mac) installed. Go to Help > Check for updates.

Also try to logout of the application, reboot the computer once and relogin with the same Adobe ID and see if that works for you.

We will be waiting for your response. Once we've got that information from you, we can take a closer look.

Hi,

we used the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version: 21.007.20091 version. With this version we can't open the links. I already checked for updates, at the time, I faced this issue. Restart of the computer and so one, I tried too.
