Can't open link in Excel using Adobe Reader XI

I can't seem to open a link in excel to open a PDF file using Adobe Reader XI.

I don't know if there was an update on the software that caused the issue, but it

just started happening all of a sudden.  I click the link. Excel thinks for a good 10

seconds, then nothing happens.  Not even an error message.  I just get nothing.

I turned off "Enable Protection Mode at startup", but that didn't do anything.  Does

anybody have any tips on how to fix this.
