Can't open PDF

I've subscribed to Acrobat for years. Lately when I click on a PDF, it opens the Welcome page to Acrobat Reader with a list of previously opened files (not the one I clicked on), then I get a pop up to buy Acrobat Pro. How do I open the file I want, and why is this happening now?  I'm using Windows 11. Thank you.

Hi marianneb48551723,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble.

We have checked that you are subscribed to the Acrobat Export PDF plan. However, clicking on a PDF should open the PDF in the application.

Please try reinstalling the application using the steps suggested below:

- Sign out and remove the application

- Run the cleaner tool (https://adobe.ly/400BVhm).
- Reboot the machine
- Install Adobe Acrobat Reader from the following page: https://adobe.ly/4kIBmBd;

- Sign in with your Adobe ID.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
