Can't open some pdfs

I recently "upgraded" to Acrobat Reader DC.  I can open most pdf documents using this but not the ones I created last Spring which are very large documents.  How do I go back to an earlier free version of Acrobat Reader?  Please send a link.

    There can be many reasons as to why that is happening like the PDF is damaged, the reader installation or update is damaged or file type is unrecognizable.

    If not, Please confirm the OS version you are using.

    Also, please specify if you are getting any particular error when opening the files you are referring to and if you could mention the exact error.
