Can't Search Adobe Reader DC PDFs

Am using Windows 10 and Adobe Reader DC version 22.1.20117.0.  PDFs open in Reader. I can no longer use Windows to search and locate PDFs and cannot find (search for) text within PDFs.  Searches do not find any text in PDFs. Please help me fix this issue.  Thank you.
