Cannot download Reader on Mac

I have all the system requirements (correct running software etc) and yet after three times of downloading the adobe reader this message still returns:

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC did not install successfully

You can troubleshoot your installation with the following resources:

and I have troubleshoot-ed with everything I can find, but to no end.

Any help?

Please try installing the application through Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

and see if that helps.

Hi there,

That did not work It keeps getting stuck at 'Running package scripts' where it says only a minute left to go, but then it never completes it.

Any other ideas?
