Cannot extract the embedded font "Barcode39". Some characters may not display or print correctly.

Question

We faced an issue with one of the file where this error pops up when opening the file in acrobat pdf reader.

We receive the input file base64 encoded and embedded in a XML and our tool decodes it and output is usually a perfect pdf file. We are able to see the content and compared it with content when viewed on chrome browser. We don't see any issue in content but we want to get rid of the error. We are not making anything to content to corrupt it while decoding. Need help in identifying the cause and how to fix this?

Karthik sent me the original PDF file. I analyzed it and returned the results to him. I was created by an IBM AFP to PDF converter. The file has structure errors and is so messed up that one cannot even run Preflight's PDF syntax and or font diagnosis checks on it. And finally, running Preflight's inventory report, it did show that the BarCode39 font was improperly embedded. Other than that, a perfect file! 😖
