Cannot fine or create the font Sanserifbold & Recent Files error

Question

Hi,when I try to open a pdf Document, this message appears:alot of the document appears as dots as a result. have tried another pdf viewer on line and it works ok however I prefer Adobe as it has always worked in the past. Can you please suggest a fix. I have tried a repair but did not work.also, no files appear in the recent Files list and it is set to show 100.Thank you
