Cannot install Adobe Acrobat reader on my macbook pro

Hi, am unable to install the Adobe Acrobat reader onto my mac. It's a new macbook pro & am trying to install for the first time.

Am able to download the .dmg file, but on running it get an error message as attached.

Thank you for reaching out.

 

Please run the cleaner tool (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html#macintosh) and reboot the Mac.

Then install Reader DC from the following page: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/.

Check if that helps.

Dear Meenakshi,

Thank you for your quick response.
I tried to run the cleaner, but am getting the error messages as attached.
Please advise how to proceed.

Though the clean up was not working, I rebooted my mac & used the link you
sent for installation & it worked!
