Cannot install Reader: "Newer Version Already Installed"

I did some cleanup on my Windows 10 computer and obviously deleted the wrong file somewhere because Reader stopped working. It wouldn't even let me uninstall it, so I deleted the folders manually (I didn't touch the registry) and tried reinstalling.

"Cannot install Adobe Reader - Newer Version Already Installed"

So I checked previous answers on the forums, and I've tried each of these things, attempting another download/install after each.

1. Running the cleanup tool, which said it worked successfully. Tried install, same error.

2. Verifying that I have all Windows 10 updates, which I do.

3. Manually updating my Visual C++ per the "error 1722" help page, by renaming my msvc?120.dll files and downloading the Visual C++ update.  Tried install, same error.

This is super frustrating. Any suggestions? Right now I have to use Foxit for everything and I'm not really a fan of that program.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\Setup\{AC76BA86-1033-1033-7760-BC15014EA700}

- Then double click on "AcroPro" which is the Windows Installer Package filetype.
