Cannot open files from alfresco aos: The URL you have provided could not be reached

Dear Adobe Support Community,

I am failing to open PDF files with Adode Acrobat Reader DC (currently using version 20.013.20074).

The PDF files are stored on an alfresco server with AOS (Alfresco Office Services). When I try to open a file from alfresco I get prompted for username and password. If I click ok then I get this error:

"The URL you have provided could not be reached. Please verify that the URL is correct and that the network location is reachable."

However, if I click cancel the PDF file open just fine. What can I do to fix this issue? Is it possible to disable the authentication?
