Cannot open neither newly-created nor hyperlinked files in Reader

Hello,

I have the following issue in my Windows 10 pc:

when I save a Word file as PDF, rather than automatically opening it in Reader I receive an error message like 'No application registered to open the file' (freely translated from Italian). So I have to go to the Computer Resources and open it from there.

The same happens when I try to open a link to a PDF file that is saved in my HD from a Word document.

There seems to be a mis-communication issue between Word and Reader.

Is there a solution to fix this problem?

I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (that works fine in all other respects).
