    Hi Niklas,

As mentioned above, PDF file isn't opening on Mac and reverting error the file is damaged. However, similar file is working fine on Windows without any trouble. Could you please confirm the exact version of Adobe Reader you have installed on Mac and Windows?

    Open Reader>Help>About Adobe Reader (Win)

Open Reader>click on Adobe Reader at top>About Adobe Reader (Mac)

Check this versions list DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products  If there is a difference in then update your Reader accordingly.

Secondly, how exactly you are opening the same file on Mac, Is it saved on Document Cloud storage? If yes, what happens when you view it on web browser via https://documentcloud.adobe.com/

Also share the screenshot of the error message appear on Mac: https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot

Help us with more information to understand the issue better.

    Thanks,

    Akanchha

    Hi Akancha,

    thanks for your response.

No i made a misstake. I have a PDF document with a digital signature, which i cannot open with the free Version of Adober Reader

on Windows and Mac. I always get the error message, that the file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

But with the alternative PDFXChange Editor (alternative to Adobe Acrobat Reader), i can open the PDF withouth problems.

I have received the PDF via email and saved it on my local computer (both on Mac and Windows).

    Any idea?

Maybe "PDFXChange Editor" is less strict than Reader when it comes to damaged files... At any rate, you should report this issue to the author of the file and ask them to create a better version of it.
