Cannot save to Google Drive File Stream drive

As also stated here ( Google Groups ) there exists an issue with saving to Drive File Stream drives. Upon saving Adobe Reader (XI and DC tested) gives an error message "file in use", creates an empty (0 bytes) files and that's it. Don't know if it's an Adobe Reader issue or Drive File Stream, but I would appreciate it, if someone could have a look into this.

Thx

FYI. I got a note from Google that this is a known issue with DFS and there should be a fix coming soon on the DFS side.

I was directed here by Victoria and my original posted topic was deleted. This does not solve or has much to do with my problem. I had downloaded the Drive File Streamer and files opened fine from the folder but when I was in my google docs the open with had nothing in the list for my ai files. I was not able to open anything directly from Google Docs in any Adobe Programs. I hope someone can help me. I hate having my topic deleted and then directed to something that had nothing to do with my issue. Google Suites Reps need to not so quickly delete topics as it is very frustrating. Please help. Using Mac Sierra 10.12.6 Adobe CC 2017.

Google Suite Reps are not here and will not get your message. These are Adobe forums, staffed by volunteers.

Where can I go to get my question answered then?

We have exactly the same problem. I have found that adobe reader protected mode setting is causing the issue. With "Enable protected mode at startup" disabled, then we do not experience the issue. With the box enabled, we get the error and 0KB files saved to DFS. Google support is pointing to Adobe but there are no errors in the protected mode log related to DFS. We also did not have any issues with the old drive sync client so I do not find DFS to be blameless.

We had this issue two weeks ago, and I can verify that unticking "Enable Protected Mode" does, in fact, resolve the issue. We've experienced this problem in the past on Samba networks shares, and this is the fix that solved the issue temporarily till Acrobat patched their software.

I have a similar issue when saving Illustrator. Additionally InDesign crashes when files from Google Drive are open and there is no internet connection.
