Question

Cant edit PDF - but no Secury settings are enabled

Hi

I cannot mark or comment or do anything else to a certain PDF on my PC.

When i clik file --> properties --> security, what I am shown is that commenting, signing and a few other things are "not allowed", the main option of "security method" just says "no security". If that was that case, I should be able to change what is allowed and what is not allowed. but I do not see any buttons that would allow me to allow editing, commenting etc. How can I do that?

The very weird thing is that if I open the document in my mobile app (it is a adobe document cloud PDF) I can edit it just fine (on multiple devices), but not on my PC.

Thank you for your help

There could be other things blocking it from being editable, for example it can be digitally signed or saved as a PDF/A file.

Without seeing it it's hard to say for sure.

Thank you for replying!

How can I check wether or not it is signed, and can I do anything about the issue if that diagnostication is correct?

Open the Signatures panel on the left and see if there's anything there.
