Cant open multiple pdf after windows update

Hi

After updating windows to latest version, we can't open multiple pdf by dobbel clicking. We can drag them over in the already open pdf and then it works, but we would like to get a fix for this. If I uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at stratup" then it workes, but we don't want to be exposed for viruses
