Certificate - Digital Signature

Question

I try to Digitally sign the PDF (using Certificates function), however it says I cannot because someone else may have the file open and it is read only. I am the only one with access.

Some times I can sign off 3 times on the same document with no issues, then I go to sign off another page and it gives me the error message. Sometimes, I cannot sign at all. Any thoughts?

Digital signatures apply to the whole file. It is wrong, sometimes catastrophically so, to treat them as a per page action. You need to redesign your workflow.
