Hi, I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat Reader, I need it to edit PDFs for an assignment, and I can't get past the page where it wants me to sign up for a free trial that I do not want. Can anyone help me please?

Reader can't edit PDF files, beyond adding comments and filling in form fields. If you want more advanced editing options you need to use the non-free Acrobat.

This means you have either downloaded the wrong thing (such as Adobe Acrobat without the Reader part), or you are trying to use an add on that isn't free (like the Edit tool). Where did you download (exact page please)?
