"Page extraction is not allowed in the source PDF documents." Please explain.

When I click on the app on my desktop to "Combine Files" it forces me to open a browswer. After attempting to combine I get the message I quoted above.

Please help me!

Hi Dominic,

We are sorry for the trouble. As Described you are getting the error message "Page extraction is not allowed in the source pdf documents", this is a document specific message that generally appears if any of the pdf file is secured and restricted to make any further changes in it.

You need to check which pdf is secured, Open pdf>Document Properties>Security>Page Extraction (allowed or not allowed)

Note: Secured document's properties can only be changed by the document owner, or if you own the document.

Amal,

Thank you for your help.

I do own all the documents in question. All of them do not allow page extraction. This is very frustrating. I need to combine hundreds of pages of documents. It wont let me edit the security. I turned many of the documents into their current PDF forms from Word.

Is there no simple solution to this problem?

Thank you and stay safe.

If you created the files then you should know the password you used when creating them. If you have Acrobat then you can remove the password security (and extract pages). Reader can't do either of those things.

PS. Do not reply by email, as it includes your private contact details in the signature. I removed them from your previous reply.
