Coming up with password error, when I am definitely putting in the correct password.

I am trying to change the security settings of a document so that my mortgage provider can see them without a password. However, it is saying there is an error in the password, which I am definitely putting in right. Has this happened to anyone, if so how did you troubleshoot and fix it?

Assuming you're using Acrobat (as this is impossible to do in Reader), you might have the File Open password, but not the File Edit password. The latter is needed to change the security settings of the file.

How does you change the security settings? It is not possible with Acrobat Reader.
