Comments cannot be deleted

Hi,

I've added comments to a document. These can be comment boxes, lines, stamps, or drawings.

Now I want to delete them. I can delete the comment boxes, but not the other comments. In other words, I can delete them, but they reappear after a few seconds. It doesn't matter whether I use the “Delete” option in the sidebar or the keyboard shortcuts.

Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

    Hope you are doing well and thanks for sharing the details and the video recording. Since the issue is not reproducible with every PDF, would you mind sharing the PDF file in question, so we can use it for reproducing the issue in-house?

    Hello!

    This issue has just started for me as well! I used to be able to click on a comment and press delete and go on to the next, but now it reappears as if it’s locked. When I click on the comment and click delete, it reappears. I’ve checked to see if the comments are locked, they are not. Also, I’m working from the latest version of Acrobat, updated from the latest version of Creative Cloud. This seems like it’s been an issue in the past, but no other workaround that was offered in the past has worked.

    Please advise.

    Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

     

    The issue is not reporducible at my end, would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat applicationa and the OS you are using? Go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure its updated to the latest version available. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once. 

     

    If it still doesn’t work, please share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs so we can try to replicate the issue in-house and get it checked further with our development team.

    I have Acrobat version 2026.001.21563, which is the latest version; an update is not available.
    I’m working on a Mac running macOS Sequoia 15.7.4.
    I’m also unable to reproduce the issue with all PDFs, so I’ve taken a screenshot of the file where the problem occurs. However, this isn’t the only file where I’m experiencing the issue.


    In the video, I delete the line using the Delete key. I have to press it twice because the line appears twice. That’s a mistake in itself—I only added it once. When I move the mouse pointer, the line reappears. It’s not possible to delete it via the Recycle Bin.
