Conversion error

I converted my resume from DOCX to PDF. When I open the PDF, an entire paragraph has been made into a mailto: hyperlink which opens a nonsense email address. Nothing in the word document would have prompted this. I am unable to remove the mailto: hyperlink. Can anyone provide a suggestion? I can't send out my resume like this.
