Converting PDF to a word DOC is coming up scrambled

I bought the Adobe Conversion tool for a year for my Samsung PC, but whenever I convert a document from my PC that I scan into my computer I end up getting the document back scrambled after the conversion is complete. I'm not sure what is going on but I definitely need help. I do notice that whenever there is something in the document, like a signature in script, it comes back with crazy letters or symbols. I appreciate any input. I feel like I wasted my money and there's no one to physically talk to in reference to this which is soooooo frustrating.
