After converting a pdf to word and then downloading to my computer, the document becomes somewhat unreadable with missing fonts. Is there a way to correct this?

    Hi Kim

How are you converting from PDF to Word? You can't do it with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, where you posted.

Acrobat embeds fonts. You can see which ones in File > Document Properties > Fonts. If you do not have those fonts on your computer, your choices are:

    • Obtain the fonts and install them on your computer.
    • Change to a different font in the Microsoft Word document.

And at first sight I would suspect fonts loaded in the platform where the pdf was made, that weren’t propery embedded and aren’t loaded in your computer.

It would be easier to give you a useful answer if you gave us enough details about your setup and how you are doing the conversion.
